color theory.

why are you saying random art terms? Ans what do you mean by them. you are not making any sense.

Jarold Guzman said...

those are adjacent and not working. I thought you'd get what I meant.

No I did not get what you meant. I think the colors are fine, just because colors are adjacent on the color wheel does not mean they do not work together. Though everyone is entitled to their own personal taste in color.

That usually makes them work. That I agree with. But I just think it doesn't in this case... doesn't match the mood of the illustration.

You are stating it like its a fact. When it is clearly opinion.

isn't that what a critique is?

p.s. Mr. Dave says cute clip art

You're right. It is, that is why I am being thrown off like you are stating it as a fact not as your opinion.

well I'm glad that settled :)

Seeing as I've missed this comment conversation thus far, I must say this simply. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and critiques. But a critique is meant to be constructive and with meaning. When we post comments on one another's creations, we should have a purpose and helpful idea behind it, otherwise it has no meaning to the idea of this blog.

In terms of the comment made about some random individual saying my work is clip art, I find that to be a comment made to jab at another person's art and has no taste and constructive ideas behind it. My work is created on a basis to express an idea and in this blog, I've never opted to disgrace another person's work by labeling it 'clip art'. This is a very distasteful way to go about a discussion and is not appreciated in the atmosphere and positivity that we pride ourselves in with this blog.

I hope this sticks with whomever decides to comment on anyone's work on this blog.
