Spotlight: Brandon Boyd

Besides being the lead singer of the band Incubus and the man of my dreams, Brandon Boyd is an accomplished fine artist. His paintings and drawings are colorful and full of movement. I came across an interview with him online that I think everyone here should read whether you are a fan of his work or not. He has an interesting perspective on things, and shares some of his insights on life, art and music.

I actually have the opposite opinion. At least from the examples posted here and from what I saw from the interview in subVert, his works appears unpolished and amateurish. The second image in particular feels even sloppy to me, while in the fourth one, whether intentional or not, the two children blend into the orangutan and the composition could be better.

Again I realize I am saying these things and am not myself a professional illustrator/painter (at least not yet). So take what I say with a grain of salt and don't hurt me (Shalimar) lol.

I really like his artwork. I find his use of space and color to be quite inspired.
